Hi all,
Been pulling my hair out over playit the past 2 days, hopefully someone may know what is happening in my setup. I have used playit before using the old paper plugin that worked flawlessly. Now I am setting it up fresh on a brand new server I built and making a new minecraft server on version 26.2.
I am running ZimaOS which replaced CasaOS. I used crafty controller to create the minecraft server and I am using the wisdomsky/playit-docker-web docker container to host the agent. Setting up the agent seemed to go smoothly, as did setting up the tunnel to the agent. The strange behavior I am finding is on the playit dashboard on the agent list my agent shows as connected. After selecting the agent, it shows it is not connected. On the tunnel page under origin summary it shows the agent as connected. The minecraft server however will not connect using the tunnel.
I think I have verified that the tunnel is not being blocked by my dns. I was able to ping the tunnel and successfully search it using nslookup.
I am unsure what the problem can be at this point. Any help is appreciated, happy to try anything or answer related questions.
Thanks.

I’m having the same or a very similar problem right now, except my server has been running mostly fine for several months now and just started having this issue last week. Hopefully someone has a solution, if I find something I’ll try to post it
Make sure ports are allowed thru the container, on playit side make sure local port and local ip is configured properly. Also ensure you’re using the official playit docker https://playit.gg/account/setup/wizard/new-account/docker/docker-name
I have tried both the wisdomsky/playit-docker-web image as well as the the image provided by play it in the link you gave. I am getting the same outcome still.
As for the ports on the container, the containers use the network host setting, this should bypass the need to set container ports to ports on the server right? I am still new to docker so I may be misunderstanding.
I appreciate your help!
Having the same issue here (Since 6/29), I’ve been running playit from the apt repository for the past few months without any issues within a ubuntu server 24.04 lts virtual machine.
Might be a far stretch but if you know how to connect to the terminal for the docker container in ZimaOS running your instance of playit, then pasting this command will send the log output error.
sudo tail -n 20 /var/log/playit/playit.log
I personally get this error despite having already claimed my agent months ago (and it working for months). So dont try to reset or reclaim the agent, which in your case would be reinstalling the playit app within the web interface ZimaOS has.

Same issue occurs when using systemd to restart the playit service that was installed alongside the apt package.
Just got this working and proxied to my Minecraft server. It seems to disconnect after so many minutes. My kid was in the middle of a session and disconnected him, although both containers were up and running. I had to console into the play it container and at minimum run playit -s to see the logs and was able to reconnect.
same issue for me but i kinda figured it out for me but im very confused on how i did it tho.. so far the only issue i came is the agent (in long hour session) disconnect and reconnects
